Student Recreation & Wellness Coordinator
Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) is accepting applications to fill a full-time Student Recreation & Wellness Coordinator position on the Walla Walla campus. This position is responsible for planning, overseeing, and directing the operations, services, staff, and activities of the Student Recreation and Wellness program, including the operations of the Student Recreation Center and development of indoor and outdoor recreational activities. Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in a related field (recreation, fitness, physical education, student development) and a minimum of 5 (five) years of experience working in the fitness industry. Professional experience may substitute for education requirement at the discretion of the College. Annual salary range: $52,000 - $55,000. This position will remain open until filled. Essential Functions:
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the Student Recreation Center in addition to supporting co-curricular learning at Walla Walla Community College.
- Develops and enforces policies, procedures and standards, including those related to safety and cleaning protocols.
- Receives and responds to questions and concerns from Recreation Center patrons; identifies issues and resolves problems or refers to supervisor as appropriate.
- Supports the Student Life Department and actively partners with HPER instructors and other Student Recreation Center employees to explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in recreational activities, and demonstrate use of materials and equipment.
- Oversees and schedules regular maintenance and cleaning of the Student Recreation Center equipment and space.
- Supervises student employees and part-time hourly staff, including hiring, training, payroll and scheduling in compliance with established procedures.
- Plans, designs, promotes, and leads indoor and outdoor recreational and wellness activities.
- Assesses, maintains, and purchases necessary equipment and supplies through prescribed processes.
- Assists in the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of intramural and club sports.
- Works collaboratively with Human Resources to support employee recreation and wellness opportunities.
- Participates in professional development to stay informed of current trends and issues in student recreation and wellness, including participation in college, community, and professional associations.
