Athens Campus
The vice provost for regional higher education and partnerships serves as a member of the provost’s senior staff, leads the regional higher ed system in collaboration with Athens academic leaders, and identifies and responds to educational needs throughout the region. The vice provost helps develop and enact strategies to increase enrollment and meet the needs of the region we serve. The vice provost represents OHIO in the region and develops strong partnerships with stakeholders in all sectors.
1. Develop and implement strategies for long-term sustainability of regional campuses in consultation with the Provost, and in collaboration with regional and Athens academic leadership, relevant Athens units (e.g., Strategic Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, University Communications and Marketing), and community and regional partners. Align regional campus strategy with overall university strategic priorities.
2. Actively identify community and regional educational needs, and facilitate collaboration of academic and university division leadership across all campuses to develop, market, and implement existing Athens and new credit and non-credit programs, evaluate existing programs, and ensure appropriate student services to support equitable outcomes and the needs of diverse regional learners.
3. Develop, sustain, and serve as primary university point person for regional and community partners, including other educational institutions, community organizations, business and industry, alumni, and government officials, agencies, non-profits, and boards in coordination with other university officials as appropriate. Connect regional partners with potential university collaborators, and facilitate regional outreach strategy in consultation with university leadership.
4. Advocate for regional and community educational needs in collaboration with Director of Government Relations. Represent the regional mission of the university to the senior academic leadership team, the Board of Trustees, the Ohio Department of Higher Education, Inter-University Council of Regional Campus Deans, as well as other state, regional, national and international entities.
5. Oversees regional campus leaders to ensure a focus on enrollment, meeting regional educational needs through a variety of responsive programming, a high quality student experience, equitable student success, excellent academics, a diverse and welcoming academic community, and access and affordability.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree
8+ years of related work experience
Minimum of 5 years management experience
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral Degree
Relevant experience in the business or non-profit sector may substitute for a doctoral degree

Work Schedule
This position works year-round and is typically expected to work 40+ hours a week.
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Some work required after hours as needed.
Flexplace (hybrid) work arrangements may be discussed at time of offer.
