he College of Arts, Sciences, and Education at Montana State University Northern (MSUN), invites applications for an academic-year (10-month), tenure-track Assistant Professor of History/Social Sciences position, anticipated to begin August 1, 2023.
The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate courses in history, political science, and sociology to support general education, Liberal Studies, and the Secondary Education Social Science Broadfield major; advise students effectively; continue the pursuit of scholarly achievement; provide service to the institution and regional communities; and participate as a cooperative team member for MSU-Northern.
We are seeking an innovative faculty member who is eager to participate in curricular and programmatic development. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to building a diverse community through their teaching, scholarship and service.
Effective teaching is the primary mission of this position and MSU-Northern.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills:
· Ph.D. in History or related social science area from an accredited institution at time of appointment.
· Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives and the ability to teach and work effectively with persons from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
· Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.
