Salary: Placement according to current Administrator salary schedule at date of hiring. 2021-2022 range: $93,617 - $109,523. Will be adjusted when the 2022-2023 salary schedules are approved.

- Oregon schools have been directed by the Governor under OAR 333-019-1030 to ensure that school teachers, staff and volunteers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. POSITION PURPOSE
This position supports the effective implementation of federal and state programs in districts with student enrollment of 2000 or less and is part of a statewide initiative providing targeted technical assistance and administrative support to identified districts. This position assists districts with building, planning and designing processes, procedures, protocols that improve program implementation and student outcomes. In addition, this position manages assigned grants or SSA programs and supports component districts in accessing ESD services to support improvement efforts.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support to identified districts related to implementation of state or federal programs.
- Support districts in authentic community engagement strategies.
- Assist districts with integrating feedback from engagement processes into needs assessment and strategic planning.
- Assist districts with alignment of stakeholder engagement activities, needs assessment, and Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) processes.
- Provide support for planning and implementation of identified district programs.
- Support district analysis of data and documentation of progress in meeting program goals/targets.
- Assist districts in improving efficient reporting processes.
- Hire, direct, and evaluate SSA program/grants staff as assigned.
- Oversee training, professional development, and support to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Communicate and monitor the district and department policies and procedures regarding staff responsibilities related to their individual job descriptions.
- Assist in identifying regional priorities for services that support successful student learning and building the capacity of school staff to support student engagement, mental health, and implement highly-effective culturally responsive instructional practices.
- Promote services to support the social emotional well-being of students and adults.
- Provide training to promote component districts’ use of equitable practices with the goal of reducing academic disparities and improving academic achievement among diverse and underrepresented student populations.
- Evaluate supports and services as assigned and make adjustments to ensure that programs and integrated guidance efforts are effective and responsive in meeting district needs.
- Prepare reports and recommendations related to supports and services provided.
- Serve as the primary liaison to ODE and participate in required meetings and trainings with regard to Integrated Guidance initiatives.
- Gather feedback from district contacts for improving processes or systems that reduce administrative burden and increase program alignment and effectiveness.
- Recommend changes to policies, processes, procedures and operational protocols that improve program implementation and student outcomes.
- Assist director with budgets as assigned.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree in education or related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience providing technical assistance, coaching, and professional development that improves instruction and learning at the classroom level.
- A minimum of three (3) years successful experience as a building or district administrator.
- A valid Oregon Administrator’s License.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and instruction, including principles of specially designed instruction, English Language Learner instruction, and culturally responsive practices.
- Demonstrated understanding of diverse and underserved student populations.
- Demonstrated experience applying an equity lens to decision-making, including planning and implementation of services.
- Excellent communications skills, including writing, presenting information and speaking, and facilitating groups.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting district staff in the analysis of data for the purpose of continuous improvement planning.
- Demonstrated experience planning, organizing, and implementing projects and grants to meet schedules and timelines, including development and implementation of improvement plans.
- Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with ESD staff, component districts, and partner agencies.
- Ability to use technology necessary to perform job duties.
- Possess or ability to obtain valid Oregon Driver’s License.

School Improvement Services focuses on improving achievement for all students within our community, through providing high quality professional development, technical assistance, and instructional-based support for educators in 16 Lane County School Districts. Services are provided to educators at all levels from kindergarten through graduation, in all core content areas, and can be designed to meet the collective needs of all districts or differentiated to meet individual district needs.
