Description
This is a 224-day faculty position responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of testing and remediation initiatives for the department of Nursing and Health Science. This role is critical in ensuring the academic success of students by assessing their knowledge and skills, assisting to develop study habits and test-taking strategies, providing remediation support, and promoting continuous improvement in our health programs. This position works closely with remediation for all “at risk” students within the department based on best education practices.

  • Analyze assessment data to identify areas of strength and areas requiring remediation.
  • Assess student behaviors and performance to develop individualized success plans.
  • Create and implement effective remediation programs for students not meeting academic performance standards.
  • Collaborate with faculty to design personalized remediation plans.
  • Monitor and track student progress in remediation, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Assist faculty in identifying students in need of remediation.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data related to student assessment, performance, and remediation outcomes.
  • Use data to make informed decisions about curriculum changes and program improvements.
  • Prepare reports for accreditation bodies and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage resources, including testing materials, software, and remediation tools.
  • Budget and allocate resources effectively to support testing and remediation efforts.
  • Collaborate with faculty and student services to provide support services for students in remediation.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging environment to help students succeed.
  • Stay current with trends and best practices in nursing education and assessment.
  • Attend conferences and workshops related to nursing education and assessment.

Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Dedication to maintaining a safe and professional learning environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher; Master’s degree in Nursing Education preferred. Valid, unencumbered Florida Nursing license. One (1) year of teaching in an academic setting and three (3) years in clinical nursing preferred.
